Fort Collins is about 70 miles from Denver International Airport and the drive takes roughly 70 minutes on I-25 north, which makes it one of the shortest per-mile runs we do out of DIA. It is also a shorter trip from the airport than several Denver suburbs, because you never touch the city.
The route bypasses downtown Denver entirely, so the usual downtown congestion is not a factor. What does matter is the I-25 north corridor through Thornton, Longmont and Loveland at rush hour, and wind along the stretch past Berthoud, which is why we do not put travelers in small vehicles on this run.
