Winter Park is about 90 miles from Denver International Airport and 66 from downtown Denver. The drive takes roughly an hour and 45 minutes from the airport: I-70 west out of the metro, then US-40 north over Berthoud Pass.
Berthoud Pass is the part that matters. It tops out above 11,000 feet with switchbacks on both sides, it is the first thing to close in a storm, and Colorado traction law applies there in winter. It is a very different drive from the I-70 resort corridor, and it is not one to take on in a rental car after a long flight.
